2019 Urluberlu Malbec is a quintessential Malbec from Pays d'Oc in the South of France. This red wine is from Benoit Valérie Calvet, a Bordeaux-based team that designs and produces exceptional wines recognized in competitions worldwide. This mighty Malbec offers vibrant notes of plums and blackberries on the nose. Fresh with light-moderate tannins, this full-bodied wine bursts with crisp fruit flavor followed by a pleasant finish. Elegance and roundness are brought from terroir in the South of France. Grapes were planted on clay-limestone hillsides and picked at peak ripeness to capture the varietal’s dark fruitiness. Extravagant, brilliant, and uncommon, Urluberlu wines embody a French character appreciated for those very traits. Urluberlu always finds something special in others, and this is personified by winemakers putting hard work into growing the best grapes. Benoit Valérie Calvet winemakers are passionate about showcasing what is most distinctive about various grapes, including Malbec. Award-winning Benoit Valérie Calvet is based in Bordeaux, France, and has vineyards in this renowned region and across Europe. For more than 35 years, Benoit Valérie Calvet has been combining tradition and innovation to design and produce enjoyable, high-quality wines. Pair their 2019 Urluberlu Malbec with flavorful meat dishes like beef brisket, steak, and leg of lamb. It’s also wonderful when served with stuffed peppers, blue cheese, and any type of potato dish.
