Senneh is the old name of the modern city of Sanandaj. The carpets originating from the city and from nomads or farmers in the surrounding region are known as Senneh rugs. These double-sided kilims feature the typical slit-weave structure. They often display small patterns with designs such as bouquets of roses and tree or floral motifs arranged in rows. Traditional Mahi motifs can also appear, as well as a large central field, often decorated with a rhombus in different colors.
